You can apply changes made to the configuration file when the Presentation Client is open, but no session connection is running, by selecting Open Session on the File menu and pressing F5.

However, to apply changes made to the global parameters, which are defined for the root node in the Configuration Assistant, you must restart the Presentation Client.
