To simplify the environment for Windows based customers, the Component Enabler runtime environment has been converted to utilize the Microsoft .NET Framework. Naturally, the Java runtime version is still available for customers who use non-windows and applet based client applications.
In addition to the conversion to the .NET Framework, a new runtime interface layer has been included. This layer is specially written to be easy to use in all .NET-based languages, and 'hides' classes and methods that are unusable by the client programmer, but appear in the class reference.
