Use this screen to specify whether to transfer all or part of your application, and to define the transfer method. You can also specify some configure options, and view the options specified in the Configure Configuration.
Configuration Used for Generate
This property displays the name of the Configuration being used to build the application for this transfer. You cannot alter this value.
Configure Generate Set
This property displays the name of the Configure Configuration being used to configure the target application. You cannot alter this value.
Transfer Medium
Enter the transfer medium for this transfer, as shown in the following table.
Value | Action |
---|---|
DISK or PACK | Files are output to the pack named on the Transfer Creation screen. |
BNA | Files are copied, using BNA, to the target host name specified on the Transfer Creation screen. By default, the transfer medium is set to BNA if either of the following conditions apply:
|
TAPE | Files are output to TAPE. This is the default. |
Tape Tfr Interim Medium
If you have entered TAPE in the Transfer Medium property, and cannot or do not want to use the LIBMAINTAPPEND attribute, enter TAPE or DISK in this property to specify a medium to hold transfer files before they are copied to TAPE. If you leave this property blank, LIBMAINTAPPEND is used. By default, it is spaces.
Tfr/Configure All Ispec Code
Enter Y to transfer the full application. Enter N to transfer only those Ispecs and methods that have changed (reducing configure times). By default, the value is N.
Application and All Tfr Reports
Enter Y in this property to transfer the application plus all Reports that have Y in the Transferable property on the Report Options screen.
Enter N to obtain a set of screens for selecting individual Reports to be transferred. By default, the value is Y.
Prior to the transfer, the application and all Reports to be transferred must have been built using an MCP based configuration.
Compile Free Configure
Enter Y in this property to cause all compiles, including the DASDL and the reorganization object, to occur during the transfer phase. No compiles happens in the configure phase on the target host.
Enter N to cause compiles to occur during the configure phase on the target host. By default, the value is N.
Transfer Static Listbox File
Enter Y in this property if you have a Static Listbox data file to transfer.
CF Configure Work Pack
If you have entered Y in the Compile Free Configure property, enter a pack to be used for all work relating to compiling the target DMS files. The pack must be located on the source host.
The default value is spaces, but you must enter a valid pack if you are using compile free configure.
The CF Configure Work Pack should not be the same as the Dictionary pack of any application on the source host that uses the same database name as you are using on your target host. If you use the same pack, and the Transfer WFL aborts, you could be left with a description file with the same name as an existing one on your source host. There is no way of knowing whether it belongs to the existing application or to the application being transferred. At the beginning of the transfer, the existing description file is saved with a different title, and restored when the transfer completes successfully. If your transfer fails, you should restore the original description file to its original title immediately, and remove the saved version. If you leave the saved description file, any current description file for the application on the source host will not be saved by the next transfer and may be lost. |
Auto Initiate Configure Program
Enter Y to initiate the configure of the transferred application automatically on the target host. This is valid only if the Transfer medium property is set to BNA and you are using a Configure Configuration.
RDB Generate Set
This property displays the name of the RDB Configuration associated with the configuration. You cannot alter this value.
Clone DB
If you are using the Remote Database facility, enter Y if you want your Secondary database to be cloned. You must also make a valid entry in the RDB Generate Set property.
Refer to Remote Database Facility (RDB) for more information.
