There are two distinct activities in the paging process. The activities are as follows:
Sending a message from the Operations Sentinel server (message originator) to the paging service.
During this activity, Operations Sentinel calls the paging service number using a modem and sends a message to the paging service. The message includes the pager access number.
Sending a message from the paging service (paging terminal) to the pager.
During this activity, the paging service calls the pager and transmits the required message.
Operations Sentinel does not take part in this second activity. Any questions about the operation of the paging service must be directed to the service provider.
