The ULRM monitors hardware and software resources following a user-defined policy for which it sends alert event reports to Operations Sentinel alert services. It can monitor SLES12, SLES15, RHEL 7, RHEL 8, CentOS 7, and Oracle Linux7.2. It can also monitor the following entities:
File systems
Critical processes
Long-running processes
CPU utilization
Physical memory
Log files
Custom actions (resources monitored by user-supplied scripts or programs)
The ULRM persists all unseen alerts to insure no events go unseen.
The UNIX/Linux Resource Monitor can also be used to monitor the Virtual Tape Library (VTL). It extends its support to 64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux and also its variants, such as CentOS v5.6. The default policy can be altered to suit the requirements and distributed to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/CentOS system when the VTLs are hosted.
