Use the default resource monitor policy as is.
Copy the default resource monitor policy and alter some of the threshold or key phrase definitions.
Create a new resource monitor policy.
See the Operations Sentinel Console Help for the procedure to copy the default resource monitor policy or to create a new resource monitor policy.
Resource monitor policies are created, maintained, and pushed to the managed system through the Resource Monitor Policies node in the Administration mode in Operations Sentinel Console. By using the Resource Monitor Policies node, an administrator can control how each resource is managed by defining the properties of each resource. In addition, all resource groups have an Interval property that controls the polling interval (the time between checks of a resource).
Operations Sentinel Console saves resource monitor policies in the Operations Sentinel data folder on the Operations Sentinel server. A new or updated resource monitor policy must be distributed to the Windows system for changes to take effect. Operations Sentinel Console reports any errors that are encountered while changing policies or attempting to push the policy to a system.
