A permission is the right to access an object for a particular purpose, such as read, modify, or execute.

The general or default permissions that apply to the Operations Sentinel server as a whole are specified on the Security tab in the Server Properties dialog box. To display the Server Properties dialog box, click Server Properties on the File menu. This tab appears for SPO Administrators only. Using this tab, the SPO Administrator can either allow or deny the permissions for one or more user roles.

The general or default permissions can be overridden by using the Security tab for specific nodes or specific items in the Navigation pane.
