A view provides a way to subset (filter) objects for viewing, and to designate displays through which you can examine the objects. A view always resides in a zone, so it is confined to displaying objects contained in that zone.
The views contained directly in the zone include an Object view which displays all objects in the view plus views that provide other useful subsets of managed objects such as Automated Systems, Connected Systems and Consoles, and so on. The administrator may also include one view for each class of objects in the zone.
Site Creation of Views
Any user with the appropriate privileges can create (including copy and paste), delete, and alter view definitions as desired.
If a user copies and pastes a zone, the views associated with that zone are carried along. If the user copies and pastes a view, any subviews associated with that view are carried along. When a view is copied from one zone to another, it contains (in general) different objects since the contents of the view are constrained by the zone that contains it.
