Building a database creates a binary file that can be activated by CP-AMS or SP-AMS. The AMS database is created by compiling the source files defined by the project using the Project Settings and the settings defined by the Build tab in the Options dialog.
To build a database either
Right-click on the project in the tree and click Build Database.
Click the Build icon on the utility bar.
Click Build Database on the Tools menu.
Press F2.
The last three methods build the active project.
To terminate a build before it completes either
Click Stop Utility on the Tools menu.
Click the Stop Utility icon on the utility bar.
Press Ctrl+F2.
Autoaction Database Manager removes the database being built. Any preexisting database is still available.
The Stop Utility command is unavailable if a build, verify, or dump is not in progress.
Notes:
Do not build a database until you specify your Project Settings and Options.
While the Database Maintenance window is open, the Build Database command, the Build button on the utility bar, and the shortcut key are unavailable.
