In a topology, each system and console is represented by a two-part image and corresponding label. For example
The larger part of the image indicates, by shape and color, the most severe alert for the object that has not been marked as “seen.” In this example, the orange triangle indicates there is a major alert. The alert images are as follows:
Icon | Meaning |
Critical
Major
Minor
Warning
Informational
Indeterminate
No alerts
The second, smaller image, which is superimposed on the first part, indicates the type of object. This image is typically different for each object class.
Although Operations Sentinel provides default images, your site's Operations Sentinel administrator can customize these images. The default images are as follows:
Icon | Managed Object Represented |
Arbitrary system
MCP system
OS 2200 console
OS 2200 system
![]() | Servers |
UNIX/Linux system
Windows system
QProcessor System
JProcessor System
Consolidated Specialty Engine System
ePortal System
VTL Subsystem
TProcessor System
If the alert server goes down, you cannot see any of the alert icons in a topology. Only the managed object images are displayed.
