SSH connections require a TCP/IP capable network connection to the Operations Sentinel server and to each managed system. Operations Sentinel supports SSH version 1 or version 2.

By default, Operations Sentinel uses the service name spo_ssh, spo_ssh1, or spo_ssh2 and associates it with port 22. Port 22 is the industry standard SSH port. If you use port 22 for SSH, and specify spo_ssh, spo_ssh1, or spo_ssh2 as the Service Name for each SSH-connected system, no entry in the services file is required. If you use another port to connect to an SSH server, you must configure that service for use by Operations Sentinel in the SystemFolder\drivers\etc\services file on the Operations Sentinel server.
