Any Hayes-compatible modem can be used. This modem may require an initialization string, which you specify in a modem template in an alert policy. See the Operations Sentinel Console Help for information on how to define alert policies.

For the appropriate string to use, consult your modem documentation. The modem and paging service determine the initialization string required, not Operations Sentinel.
