Options for Handling Line Drop with an A/B Switch

Depending on the setting of the stty option named clocal on a managed system, switching back and forth on an A/B switch may cause console traffic to be lost. Possible settings are as follows:

-clocal (a line with modem control)

Traffic is lost. It is necessary to log in again to reestablish the traffic.

clocal (a line without modem control)

Traffic is not lost.
