On the General tab, you specify the following information about the project:
Project Name
The Project Name is the name that is set when the project is created.
Database Name
The Database Name is the name given to the autoaction database.
A legal name for a SP-AMS database is 1 to 128 ASCII characters, excluding backslashes.
A legal name for a CP-AMS database is 1 to 255 characters, excluding slashes, backslashes, colons, asterisks, question marks, double quotes, less than symbols, great than symbols, and vertical bars. CP-AMS database names are case-insensitive.
A legal name for a SMART AMS database is 1 to 8 characters (letters, digits, and hyphens).
If no database name is supplied, the database name defaults to the project name.
Location
The Location is the location of the project file and the database when it is built.
Database Type
Database Type is the type of database to be built.
SMART Autoaction Message System databases (.ams) automate legacy OS 2200 systems.
Single Point Autoaction Message System databases (SP-AMS database, *.asp) automate non-OS 2200 systems such as UNIX and MCP systems.
ClearPath Plus OS 2200 Autoaction Message System databases (CP-AMS database, *.acp) automate OS 2200 systems executing on ClearPath Plus servers.
