The navigation pane is a hierarchical representation of the objects that are defined and managed using Operations Sentinel Console. Double-click a name or icon, or click the plus (+) or minus (-) sign next to an icon, in the navigation pane to expand or collapse the list of subordinate nodes. The navigation pane also contains the navigation buttons that allow you to switch between Operations and Administration modes. The heading at the top of the navigation pane identifies the mode you have currently selected.
As you click different nodes in the navigation pane, the information in the display pane changes.
Selecting Nodes
The following keyboard actions select nodes in the navigation pane:
To select a different node, press the up and down arrow keys.
To expand a list, press the right arrow key.
To collapse a list, press the left arrow key.
To move the focus to the display or details pane, press Tab.
Navigating Between Administration and Operations Modes
To navigate between Administration mode and Operations mode, click the desired navigation button at the bottom of the navigation pane: either Administration or Operations.
Showing or Hiding the Navigation Pane
By default, the navigation pane is displayed. To show or hide the
navigation pane, click Navigation Pane on the View menu. Click the close icon () in the top right-hand corner of the navigation
pane to hide it.
Navigating Backward and Forward
Navigating backward or forward enables you to redisplay nodes in the navigation pane that you have previously viewed
To navigate forward, click Navigate Forward on the View menu.
To navigate backwards, click Navigate Backward on the View menu.
Operations Mode Alert Icon
In Operations mode, an alert icon accompanies each zone to indicate the highest severity of the alert that applies to systems in this zone. A green circle indicates no alerts currently exist. See Alerts Window Severity Icon Descriptions for more information on the alert states.
