In a hot standby environment, designate a secondary Operations Sentinel server to take over when the Operations Sentinel Server services on the primary server are not available.
The name of the secondary Operations Sentinel server is supplied to external applications that are launched from Operations Sentinel Console using the SP_SECONDARY_SERVER environment variable. An application that uses the Operations Sentinel Event Server API to send or receive event reports can use this value.
To specify a secondary Operations Sentinel server
In Administration mode, click File Properties on the File menu.
On the Secondary Server tab, enter the name of the desired secondary server. The secondary server you name must be defined in the hosts file on the primary Operations Sentinel server, in the Domain Name Server, or in the Windows Internet Naming Service.
Click OK.
Only an Operations Sentinel administrator can specify the secondary Operations Sentinel server
See the Operations Sentinel Administration and Configuration Guide for more information on using Operations Sentinel in resilient environments.
