You can copy and paste items within a node. This is a time-saving step when you are creating new items that have properties similar to an item that already exists. After the copied item is pasted into the desired location and renamed, edit the properties to fit the needs of the new one.
You can also copy items from one instance of the Operations Sentinel Console and paste them into another instance of Operations Sentinel Console. This provides a way to copy items from one Operations Sentinel server to another.
Note: If you are copying managed groups and zones from one Operations Sentinel server to another, you should copy the managed groups first. It is recommended that you keep the collection of managed groups on related Operations Sentinel servers identical.
To copy and paste
Select the item you wish to copy in either the navigation pane or the display pane and click Copy on the Edit menu.
The items are copied to the clipboard.
Note: You can copy multiple items at one time by first selecting all the desired items in the display pane.
Select the desired location for the copied items and click Paste on the Edit menu.
Save your changes.
While editing alert policies, when you copy actions that contain templates
If a template with the same name and properties does not already exist in the target alert policy, a new template with that name and those properties is added to that alert policy.
If a template with the same name but different properties already exists in the target alert policy, and a template with the same properties but a different name also exists in that alert policy, the existing template with the same properties is used and no new template is added to that alert policy.
While editing managed groups, when you copy a group, any subgroups are also copied. You can then paste the group anywhere in the Managed Group hierarchy.
