The Security tab in the Details pane enables an administrator to modify the default permissions that are used when objects of the selected class are created. These permissions apply whether the administrator creates the objects in administration mode or whether they are dynamically created by an AC event report.
The default permissions for each managed class are as follows:
Acknowledge alerts – permits acknowledging of alerts that apply to objects of this class
Clear alerts – permits clearing of alerts that apply to objects of this class
Create – permits the ability to create objects of this class in administration mode
Delete – permits deletion of existing objects in this class in administration mode
Modify – permits modification of new objects of this class (requires Read permission)
Read – permits read access to new objects of this class
To view or update permissions
In Administration mode, select the Managed Objects node in the navigation pane. The display pane lists the classes and the number of managed objects in each class.
In the display pane, select a class whose permissions you want to view.
Select the Security tab in the details pane. The Security tab displays the Operations Sentinel roles on the left side. When you select a role from the list, Operations Sentinel displays the permissions for that role on the right side.
To update any of the existing permissions, set or clear the Allow or Deny box.
Save your changes.
