Setting the Service Name Property (OS 2200 JProcessor and QProcessor)

The Service Name property identifies an entry in the services file that completes the definition of the communications link that Operations Sentinel uses to connect to the managed system. The Service Name property value defaults to spo_telnet, which assumes you are monitoring the system using TELNET. Since JProcessor and QProcessor systems are monitored with ping monitoring, you must change this value by editing the Service Name property.

To change the service name

  1. Under the Managed Objects node in the navigation pane, click OS 2200JProcessor or QProcessor Systems.

  2. In the display pane, click the desired systems.

  3. In the details pane, change the Service Name property to spo_ping.

  4. Save your changes.
