You can choose to enable a filter condition so it is evaluated as part of the object filter, or disable it for later use. Disabling a filter condition means that the expression is ignored when the object filter is evaluated. You might want to disable a filter condition, instead of deleting it, so you can easily restore the filter condition for later use.
When you disable a filter condition for a managed group, the filter condition does not affect which managed objects are included in the managed group. Hence, it does not appear in the expression that appears in the Object Filter property. If you have specified no filter conditions for the managed group, < None > is displayed in the Object Filter property, and the managed group contains the same objects as its parent managed group. In contrast, if you specify one or more filter conditions for the managed group but disable all of them, the Object Filter property appears blank and the managed group contains no objects.
To enable and disable filter conditions
In the navigation pane, select the Managed Groups node and then the desired managed group or subgroup in the display pane.
In the details pane, click the ellipsis () in the Object Filter property.
The Object Filter Editor appears.
In the Object Filter Editor, enable or disable a filter condition by selecting or clearing the check box next to the filter condition. A check mark means the filter is enabled.
