A view is the set of objects that an Operations Sentinel user sees in Operations mode. A view is always contained within a zone, which limits the objects that can appear in the view. An administrator specifies the properties of the view as well as the appearance and placement of the objects when the view is displayed in Operations mode.
Subviews
Subviews, or views nested beneath a view, can also be created. A subview can contain a different set of objects than the parent view. For example, an administrator can create a view for each server in the zone and subviews for each class of objects included in the zone. In Operations mode, a parent view includes alerts for all objects it contains and objects the subviews contain.
Views and Navigation Pane
In the navigation pane, views reside beneath the node of the zone. When you select a zone in the navigation pane, the display pane lists the views in that zone. Similarly, when you select a view in the navigation pane, the display pane lists any subviews.
Subview Toolbar
In Operations mode, each subview is represented by an icon that is placed in a toolbar that is docked (by default) to the top edge of the display pane. The toolbar is visible only if subviews exist for that view. Each subview icon represents the most severe status for objects and subviews in the view. If you click the view icon, the display shows the corresponding view.
