To create or modify a view, you must be a member of the SPO Administrators group or a member of the SPO Users group with the appropriate permission.
Before creating a zone, you must previously have defined the managed objects and created the managed groups.
You can create a view using one of the following methods:
Automatically when you create the zone
Manually with the New View command
Copying an existing view
Once you create a view, you can modify the view.
Automatically Creating Views
You have the option of automatically creating an initial set of views when you create a zone. For the objects included in the zone, the Add Zone Wizard gives you the option of creating one view for each
Base class.
Base and derived class.
Server including those objects who are a child of the server.
Server plus a subview for each class.
The None option does not create any views so you must manually create them later.
Operations Sentinel does not automatically create additional views if the administrator creates additional managed classes or defines additional servers, or if the managed groups within the zone changes. At any time, you can change the managed groups that are in the zone or the properties of the view.
Manually Creating Views
You can manually create a new view in a zone at any time.
To manually create a view, do the following:
In Administration mode, select one of the following in the navigation pane:
Zone where you want to create a view
View where you want to create a subview
On the File menu, select New View. The new view appears in the navigation and display panes. The properties of the new view appear in the details pane. Change the name of the view and its properties as appropriate.
Copying a View
Select the view you want to copy then use the Copy and Paste commands on the Edit menu to copy the view. Operations Sentinel does not allow you to have two or more views with the same name at the same level in the hierarchy.
