The execution of each alert policy action is recorded in the log named SP-EAI. This log tracks every stage of an action execution, including when it was queued, when it was initiated, its associated port traffic (if any), and its termination status. Used with other Operations Sentinel logs, the SP-EAI log can help you identify problems with an alert policy. For example, successes and failures reported during the execution of an action are recorded in this log. You can also use this log to check the complete history of actions executed for alert events over a desired period.
Example
When an action, such as an alphanumeric page, fails to occur, first examine the Alerts window in Operations Sentinel Console to see whether an alert was raised. This alert states the reason for the failure. You can use the information in this alert to find related entries in the log SP-EAI. If no alert appears in the Alerts window, the alert event report that triggered the action was not received or was discarded as a duplicate. Check the SP-SPALS log to find why the alert was not displayed.
