If you are not sure what type of template you should use, see About Templates.
To add a new template
In the navigation pane, under the Alert Policies node, expand the desired alert policy.
Select the Templates subnode.
Select New Template on the File menu, and then click the desired type of template.
A new template with a generic name is created. The name indicates the type of template.
Select the template in the display pane and rename it in the details pane by entering the new name in the Name property.
It is recommended that you give templates descriptive names that are unique across alert policies. This facilitates copying templates and reusing them in other alert policies.
Save your changes.
After you have added a new template, the next step is to define the properties of the template to be able to use it.
Tip: Instead of creating a new template, you have the option of copying an existing one and editing its properties to fit the needs of the new one. Using an existing template to create a new one could save you time by eliminating the need to reenter similar data.
