Environment Variables Supplied for Managed Objects

In addition to the environment variables supplied for all external applications, the following environment variables are provided when an external application is launched from a managed object.

Environment Variable

SP_CLASS

Managed class of the managed object.

SP_CONSOLE_SERVER

Network name or IP address of the device used to remotely access the system console (only applies to Windows, UNIX, and Linux systems).

SP_HOST_CLASS

System type of the host system.

SP_HOST_SERVER

Name of the server to which the managed object belongs.

SP_NAME

**SP_INSTANCE  

**SP_HOST_LABEL

Name of the managed object.

SP_HOST

Name of the host system to which the managed object belongs.  

SP_EXTERNAL_NETWORK_NAME

**SP_HOST_NETWORK_NAME

External network name of the host system to which the object belongs.

SP_PRIMARY_SP

Network name of the primary service processor.

SP_SENTINEL_SERVER

Network name of the Server Sentinel server.

SP_TAG

The value of the Tag property.

**These environment variables are retained for compatibility until Operations Sentinel level 12.0. If a Command String or application executable currently refers to one of these environment variables, you should update it to use the new name.
