You must distribute the resource monitor policy to the Windows Resource Monitor (WRM) agent or the UNIX/Linux Resource Monitor (ULRM) agent on the monitored system before the policy takes effect on that system. Once the resource monitor policy is distributed to the agent, the policy is used for resource monitoring if it is enabled.
To distribute a policy to a selected system
In the navigation pane, under the Resource Monitor Policies node, select the resource monitor policy type, either Windows or UNIX/Linux.
In the display pane, select the resource monitor policy.
In the details pane, select the Systems tab and select the managed system in either the Available or Distributed column.
On the Action menu, click Distribute.
To distribute an updated policy to all systems using the policy
In the navigation pane, under the Resource Monitor Policies node, select the resource monitor policy type, either Windows or UNIX/Linux.
In the display pane, select the resource monitor policy.
On the Action menu, click Distribute.
Notes:
Before distributing a resource monitoring policy, Operations Sentinel prompts you to save any unsaved data in the policy. Click OK to save all changes and distribute the policy. Click Cancel to stop the operation. Any changes are not saved.
Operations Sentinel distributes a policy to one managed system at a time. During policy distribution, Operations Sentinel displays a progress dialog box. Click Cancel in the progress dialog box to immediately stop policy distribution.
If Operations Sentinel encounters an error during policy distribution, it displays a dialog box that enables you to either continue or stop policy distribution.
If you stop policy distribution, Operations Sentinel does not revert systems that already received the policy.
