Using the Object Table

Use this table to help you monitor all managed objects included in the open zone.

The Object table provides the following information:

Column

Description

Name

The name by which the managed object is known within Operations Sentinel. The name is used in alerts and log files to identify the managed object; it is also the image label for the managed object in a topology.

Identifier

The name of an object preceded by the names of the objects that contain it. For example

  • The identifier of a system in a server is <server> . <system>

  • The identifier of an OS 2200 console is <server> . <system> . <console>

Instance

The fully qualified instance of the object that is used to match event reports to the object.

Class

The fully qualified class of this object that is used to match event reports to the object.

Tag

A property that your site uses however it chooses. It is often used as an identifier to make filtering of managed objects easier.

Persist

Indicates whether this object is retained when the Operations Sentinel services are terminated.

Parent

The managed object this device is a component of.

Image

The image that represents the managed object in the topology or <None> if it is the default image.

Default Action

The action that is initiated when you double-click the managed object or press Enter while it is selected in a table or topology.

Label

The name that identifies this object within the topology.
