The alert details pane provides detailed information about the alerts you have selected in the alerts pane. By default, this pane is not displayed. See Displaying the Alert Details Pane for information on viewing this pane.
You can display the details of multiple alerts in the alert details pane by selecting more than one alert in the alerts pane. When the details of multiple alerts are displayed, press F5 to scroll down in the alert details pane and press F6 to scroll up.
Tip: The detail information for many alerts includes help text. Use this to help you troubleshoot your alert conditions.
The detail information for an alert typically includes the following:
Attribute | Description |
Text | Provides a short description of the alert. |
Server Date | Provides the date that the alert arrived at the Operations Sentinel server. |
Server Time | Provides the time that the alert arrived at the Operations Sentinel server. |
Sender Date | Provides the date that the originator sent the alert. |
Sender Time | Provides the time that the originator sent the alert. |
Class | Provides the type of system to which the alert applies. |
System | Provides the name of the managed system to which the alert applies. |
Alert Identifier | Provides the alert identifier from the event report that raised the alert. |
Alert Qualifier | Further qualifies alerts coming from the same application that have the same alert identifier. |
Application | Provides the name of the application (originator) that raised the alert. |
Application Qualifier | Provides additional information about the application that raised the alert. Commonly used to distinguish one instance of an application from another. |
Severity | Provides the severity of the alert. |
Acknowledged | Indicates whether someone or some process has acknowledged the alert. |
Acknowledged By | Provides the user-id of the person who acknowledged the alert. |
Acknowledged From | Provides the name of the system from which the alert was acknowledged. |
External Action List | Provides the name of an external action list if an action list was specified in the event report that raised or acknowledged the alert. If this value does not appear, the Alert Identifier serves the same purpose. If this value matches an action list in the active alert policy, the actions associated with that action list are executed when the alert is raised, or when it is acknowledged or cleared. |
User Defined Attributes | Provides the names and values of any additional attributes that were specified in the event report that raised the alert. |
Help Text | Explains the alert and might provide instructions for resolving the alert. |
