In the Operations mode, you can generate System Resource report for multiple systems by performing the following steps:
Click System Report (Bar Charts) on the Tools menu, and select <system type>, such as OS 2200 System, MCP System, Windows System, or UNIX/Linux System. The Operations Sentinel : System Report - Message dialog box appears with the message "Getting the list of connect and valid <system type> systems. Please wait..." followed by the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Add/Remove System dialog box appears.
In the Operations Sentinel : System Report Add/Remove System dialog box, select one system from the List of available <system type> Systems: list, and click Add->. The selected system is added in the Systems added for the report list.
Notes:
Only the systems that are connected and valid are listed under List of connected and valid <system type> Systems: list in the Operations Sentinel : System Report Add/Remove System dialog box. This implies that the Windows/Unix/Linux systems are listed if the version of the WRM/ULRM installed on the system is of version 14.0 or later and the Agent Version in the properties of the system on the Operations Sentinel Console is not empty. Also, the systems that are running in another system report are not listed in the List of connected and valid <system type> Systems: list.
Click Refresh in the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Add/Remove System dialog box to get the latest list of the connected and valid systems.
The Refresh button is enabled only if a changed list of connected and valid systems is available.
You can select multiple systems, one by one, from the List of connected and valid <system type> Systems: list and click to add multiple systems to the Systems added for the report list.
You can select a system from the Systems added for the report list and click to move that system from the Systems added for the report list to the List of connected and valid <system type> Systems: list.
You can click to move all the systems from the Systems added for the report list to the List of available <system type> Systems list.
To save your current selection of systems added to the Systems added for the report list, click Save Selection on the File menu of the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Add/Remove System dialog box, and provide a filename in the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Save As dialog box. The default name of the file saved is in the format
List<number>_<system name on which System Report is running>_<system type>_<date>_<time>.sl
To open a saved selection of systems for the Systems added for the report list, click Open Selection on the File menu of the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Add/Remove System dialog box, and select an .sl file from the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Open File dialog box, and click Open.
Click OK.
The Operations Sentinel : System ReportMessage dialog box appears with the message "Sending requests to multiple <system type> System. Please wait..." followed by the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Set Maximum Values dialog box in case of MCP and OS 2200 systems, but in case of Windows and UNIX/Linux systems, the System Resource report appears after the Operations Sentinel : System Report Message dialog box.
In the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Set Maximum Values dialog box, if no default values are saved for the selected system type, the text boxes beside resources of the system are blank, and you can edit and enter maximum values of the resources of a system in the text boxes provided. Otherwise, the default values are read and populated in the text boxes against resources of the system.
In the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Set Maximum Values dialog box, click another system and enter or edit maximum values of the resources of that system in the text boxes provided on the right of that resources' names.
Click OK.
The Operations Sentinel : System Report - Message dialog box appears with the message asking you to confirm if you have entered values for all the resources of respective systems.
If you click Yes, System Resource report appears.
If you click No, the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Message dialog box is closed; and you can enter the values for the resources in the Operations Sentinel : System Report - Set Maximum Values dialog box, and click OK.
Notes:
If the value of any resource utilization by a system is greater than the maximum value of the y-axis, edit and change the maximum value of that resource to display an accurate report.
You cannot enter the maximum values (percentage value) for certain resources. For such resources, the default maximum value is set to 100.
If you click a text box and do not provide the maximum value for that resource, an error icon appears on the right of the text box of that resource.
If you do not provide the maximum value for all or some of the resources, the Operations Sentinel : System Report Error dialog box appears with the message "Some of the fields are left blank. Please check and enter a maximum value."
If a system is removed from the server, the bar chart for that system is grayed out.
