A Windows system is a system that uses Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, or Windows 11 as its operating system software. To monitor windows systems you must install the Windows Resource Manager on the system to be monitored. This agent monitors events in configured resources such as CPU, disks, and event log files on the Windows system and raises alerts in Operations Sentinel for selected events. See the Operations Sentinel Administration and Configuration Guide for information on installing the Windows Resource Manager on the Windows systems that you want to monitor.
You must define a distinct Windows system to represent each Windows partitions in ClearPath or ES7000 Systems . See Server Properties for details on defining a ClearPath Enterprise Servers or ES7000 Systems.
To control Windows workstations and servers, Operations Sentinel Console allows you to launch remote control software. This software provides a remote desktop into the Windows system. From this window, you have access to all resources on the target Windows system. See Configuring Remote Desktops for more information.
The Event Server API allows you to develop your own applications for collecting data on each managed Windows system and sending this information to the Operations Sentinel server. These applications can also monitor and act on information sent to Operations Sentinel for other sources.
