The ClearPath Forward Fabric includes a management server called the Fabric Management Platform (FMP).
The Fabric Management Platform (FMP)
Is a computer equipped with Intel Xeon (either a E5-2407 or Intel Xeon E3-1220v5, depending on when the order was placed) instruction processors.
Runs the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server operating system.
Communicates with the enterprise partition platforms over the ClearPath Forward Management LAN (Ethernet).
Communicates with administrators over the customer corporate LAN (Ethernet).
Provides the web browser-based management user interface to the fabric, called Fabric Manager. This user interface enables you to manage every enterprise partition platform and partition in the fabric.
To monitor the FMP systems, you must install the Unix/Linux Resource Monitor Agent on the system to be monitored. This agent monitors events on the configured resources, such as CPU, disks, and log files on the FMP system and raises alerts in Operations Sentinel for the selected events.
