About Managed Objects

A managed object is any object for which Operations Sentinel receives information, by event reports or some other means. Since managed objects are not defined automatically, you must manually enter the configuration data about each object using the Managed Objects node in Administration mode of Operations Sentinel Console.

Before you define a new managed object, you must decide which object class it should belong to. A managed object can belong to only one class; this ensures that an object appears in only one place under the Managed Objects node. Your class choices are

Each class has its own set of properties. This includes the threshold conditions for OS 2200 and MCP systems.
