Ensure that all executable programs, command files, and scripts used by the launch definition are in the data-folder\extapp-scripts folder on an Operations Server. If you want to use a different folder, ensure that the folder you use is in the PATH environment variable on each Operations Sentinel workstation before Operations Sentinel Console is started. In addition, make sure you have appropriate permissions to use the folders.

If part of the external application must run on another system (UNIX, Windows, OS 2200, or MCP), the launch definition can call a script file that uses the rsh or rexec command. However, rshd must have been installed on each Operations Sentinel workstation. Alternatively, you can write a program that calls the Win32 API networking functions.
