Prerequisites
The partition profile (PTN) and hosts file must contain the same name.
You must use the same PTN and hosts file name to create the icons in Operations Sentinel.
To modify an existing SAIL-based system, perform the following steps:
Open the Operations Sentinel Console window, and then click the Administration navigation tab in the lower-left corner.
From the Tools menu, select New SAIL-based System, Dorado x300/x400, and then click on the desired Server configuration.
The Dorado Server Configuration window loaded with the configuration of the selected server appears. It contains the following three panes:
Tree View Pane
Configuration Pane
Data Pane
Notes:
If you change the default values, then the hosts file will automatically be updated to match the new name.
If you select the Use DNS check box, entries will not be added to the hosts file.
Select Partition 1 in the Tree View Pane. The relevant configuration information is displayed in the data table present in the Data Pane.
To change the default values, click and edit the appropriate field in the data table.
Note: Each Component Name cannot be longer than 64 characters, should not contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? ” <> |, nor start with a ‘.’, Space.
The Data Pane now displays the HAPMM and ISM configuration options above the data table.
If the site has a high availability (HA) SAIL-based system, select the HA PMM check box to add an HA PMM.
Click the ISM drop-down menu to select the number of additional ISMs that are installed on the system.
To add a second partition to the system, click the Add button in the OS 2200 Partition area of the Configuration Pane.
Select Partition 2 in the Tree View Pane. Partition 2 and its configuration, by default, will contain information for one Processor Memory Module (PMM), two I/O Storage Modules (ISMs), and two Operations Sentinel Consoles.
Repeat steps 4 through 6 for Partition 2.
To add an Enterprise Partition Platform (EPP) to the system, click the Add button in the EPP area of the Configuration Pane.
Select EPP1 in the Tree View Pane.
The Data Pane now displays the ePortal Partitions, QProcessor Partitions, Windows Partitions, and Linux Partitions configuration options above the data table. The data table displays the default values.
Enter the number of partitions required for your EPP in the field provided. Then, click the Add Partitions button in the Data Pane to add all the systems to the data table and to the Tree View Pane.
If you have more than one EPP, repeat steps 10 through 12 for each additional EPP.
When information in the data table is modified, the data table validates the content for data authenticity. If the data table recognizes any violations, it displays an error symbol with a tip containing the error information.
Click on each Partition and EPP to verify that the information in the data table does not contain any errors.
If the information in the data table contains an error, hover your mouse over the error symbol to view the error message. Remember, each Component Name cannot be longer than 64 characters, should not contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? ” < > |, nor start with a ‘.’, Space.
Click the Click to See Topology View link in the lower-left corner.
The Dorado Topology View window appears. The topology view presents the hierarchical structure of the configured objects.
Once all of the names are set up correctly, click OK to close the Dorado Topology View window.
In the Dorado Server Configuration window, click the OK button.
By clicking OK, the data validation takes place followed by the addition of objects to the Operations Sentinel Console.
From the Operations Sentinel Console, click File and then click Save All to save your changes to the Operations Sentinel database and update the hosts file and services file.
From the Operations Sentinel Console, click the Operations navigation tab in the lower-left corner.
The icons for each component appear. If the icons do not appear, expand OPSRVx and click All Objects to display the icons.
The Operations Sentinel Console icons are displayed in the new window. If power is applied to all units and the names match the hosts file names, then all dotted red lines will turn solid green, with the exception of the OS 2200 Console – these require OS 2200 to be booted.
Once the final configuration is complete and all of the names are set up correctly, skip step 22 and continue with the next section.
