In Operations Sentinel logging, each log is a set of log files that pertain to a single managed system or other log source.

A log file contains all logged messages for one day for one managed system or other log source. These messages originate from various sources such as Operations Sentinel, managed systems consoles, or external applications. Every day at midnight, a new log file is automatically created for each log source that is actively logging. The new log file is named with the date on which it is created.

The logging configuration determines which log sources are logged. You can enable or disable logging for each log source using Log Policies in Operations Sentinel Console. See the Operations Sentinel Console Help for information.

You can also consolidate logs from multiple log sources.
