A view to a logical console can be read-only or it can have full console privileges. A user of a read-only view cannot send any commands to the OS 2200 partition or take any action that changes the console environment. Consequently, any menu item in the OS 2200 Console View window that can send commands to the OS 2200 partition or change the console environment is disabled. This includes Command Line on the View menu and Macros on the Tools menu.

Keyboard or mouse input that would update the logical console, such as pressing the Delete key in the hold pane, are also disabled.

Modifying view attributes, such as changing the message font, is permitted. However, you must save the changes to a view with a new view name.
