Editing and Preparing a CODES File

Edit the default CODES file as follows:

  1. After the record for bldcoc#, add a record that defines the name of the new output control code RED, as shown in the following example:

     020 bldcoc#
    022 RED
    AP9215 000PRINTER
  2. Add a record defining the new printer model PBP989, and then add records that define the existing output control codes (for example, bold and underline). The following example shows a record that defines the new printer model:

    DIABLO630 0141B571B4F bldcbright
    PBP989 000PRINTER
  3. Add a record that defines the output control code RED, as shown in the following example:

    DIABLO630 0141B571B4F bldcbright
     PBP989 000PRINTER
    PBP989 0221B513324 RED

Note: Using this CODES file, only the RED output control codes have any effect when printing on the PBP989 printer. (Other output control codes can be defined as required.)

  4. When you have finished modifying the CODES file, ensure that the file format is correct by running the fixlen utility.

Refer to Modifying a CODES File for more information.

  5. Prepare the new CODES file for generation using Developer and ROC.

Refer to the Agile Business Suite Developer Online Help for more information on how to use control codes when creating reports.
