The Presentation Client is an enhanced version of the Component Enabler Viewer. It is a Java application that utilizes the Component Enabler interface to interact with host applications. It communicates with the host via the Remote Access Server and uses the generated Component Enabler files to display graphical screens. The Presentation Client can be deployed as a standalone application or as an applet for browser clients. The class files that are generated for a host application and used by the Presentation Client, can be distributed to local workstations by using a Web Server.

A utility called the Configuration Assistant is also installed with the Component Enabler Development environment. Using the Configuration Assistant, you can create a configuration file containing site specific configuration details for accessing host systems. The Presentation Client reads this configuration file and uses the details to establish a session with the required host application.
