The following figure shows a typical configuration with a separate Web server and Remote Access server. This configuration also offers enhanced security by isolating the Web server. The Web server might be available through the public Internet, but the Component Enabler client can be kept isolated and secure. The Web server can be placed on a local private network, or corporate intranet, and still allow controlled public access to the system through the redirector.
The redirector accepts messages from the Component Enabler client, passes them to the Remote Access server, then returns responses to the client.
