Importing Applications that use Switching Functionality

EAE and AB Suite allow you to switch between two or more applications at runtime. To implement switching behavior of applications in ePortal, the generated files for each application must be imported to a single ePortal Data Source.

To do this, perform the following:

  1. Generate a separate set of XML files for each application using the ePortal Generator. You must specify the same bundle name for each application being generated.

  2. Create a Data Source project in ePortal Developer and import the first set of generated XML files of an application.

Note: It is recommended that the XML files are imported in sequence. For example, first import the XML files of the application that you want to connect to the system initially.

  3. Import the next set of generated XML files one by one in the same Data Source.

Note: To implement switching functionality of AB Suite applications in ePortal, ensure that all the sets of generated XML files are imported into a single Data Source

After the files are imported, configure the connection details for the application that you want to display or interact with initially.

When you create a Presentation Project from a Data Source containing multiple sets of application files, the Presentation Project includes the generated forms for all applications in a single project. The forms can be distinguished by the application name that is used as a prefix in the form name.
