An UpdateProgress control has been included in the DefaultAJAX startup page. This control is associated with an image which represents a busy state on the WebForm. This is needed to provide some feedback to the user that a transaction is in progress. Since the partial page updates provide a flicker-free experience, it is sometime difficult to ascertain whether the request is being actioned or not. Therefore the UpdateProgress control is used to provide the necessary visual clue. The image associated with this control is called "ajax-loader.gif" and is stored in the images directory.
