The Configuration Assistant validates all .xml files it opens. If you attempt to open an invalid .xml file, an error is displayed and an empty configuration is opened.If a file contains an invalid element, an error is displayed and the element is ignored. If the file contains an invalid value for an element, an error message is displayed and the file is loaded with the default value for the element.

If an invalid .xml file is passed as a parameter when you start the Configuration Assistant from the command line, an error is displayed and an empty configuration is opened.
