A configuration file is not essential to use the Presentation Client but it makes it easier for the Administrator to establish the user's session and connection options.

The configuration file is an .xml file that can apply to both standalone clients and browser clients. The configuration file can be edited using either the Configuration Assistant or a text editor. The Presentation client establishes an ATT recording session via the JNI mechanism by updating the session configuration defined in the config.xml file. Refer to Using the Configuration Assistant for more information on using the Configuration Assistant and the options available in the configuration file.
