Version checking ensures that the files being accessed locally by the client are the same version as those expected by the host system.
The version checking mechanism is integrated by default into Presentation Client and Visual Basic Clients. All clients using the Component Enabler interface can take advantage of version checking.
The following two types of version checking are performed:
IspecModel class files use a unique identifier to distinguish between versions.
GUI Form file versions are identified by a date/time stamp comparison.
