When list data is requested, the Component Enabler client searches the memory, WDP, and the specified Web server in that order. That is, if the list data is in memory it is displayed immediately. If it is not found in memory, an attempt is made to retrieve the list from WDP. If it is not found in WDP and a download server has been specified, a search is made for the list in the <application name>/lists directory of the Web server.

If a client requests list data and the required file is not found, a blank list is displayed.
