Using a Redirector for Secure Access

Component Enabler clients and Remote Access servers normally exchange unencrypted messages that could be intercepted, especially over a public network. A redirector can provide secure data transport for Component Enabler applications. TLS connections are used between the Component Enabler client and an TLS-capable Web server, while normal TCP/IP is used to connect the application servers in a physically secure local network. This is shown in the following figure:
