This section provides a basic overview of migrating EAE 3.3 data and language to AB Suite 7.0.
Data migration occurs after you complete importing, validating, and deploying your existing application. Essentially, it is the last task that needs to be performed in the migration process.
Agile Business Suite supports data migration from EAE 3.3 and its corresponding databases in all combinations. However, the verification of the migrated runtime data is the responsibility of the customer and should always be verified by the customer.
SQL Server 7 and SQL Server 2000 are treated interchangeably in EAE 3.2/3.3 releases.
SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2016, and SQL Server 2017 are treated interchangeably in Agile Business Suite 7.0
At the point of deployment, a database schema is created that contains empty database tables and indexes.
This section contains the following subsections:
Migrating an Existing Database using EAE Data Migration Wizard
The EAE Data Migration Tool opens this wizard.
Migrating Language Using LANGUAGE Migration Utility
The LANGUAGE Migration Tool opens this utility.
The EAE Data Migration Tool consists of three different versions; EAE DBMigrate for SQL 2014, EAE DBMigrate for SQL 2016 and EAE DBMigrate for SQL 2017. These different versions of the EAE DBMigrate Utility support different levels of SQL Server. For example, if the SQL Server version is SQL Server 2017, the DBMigrate for SQL 2017 Utility must be used.
Note: The installation of the SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2017 does not install the SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), which is used by AB Suite 7.0 Windows Runtime for EAE Data Migration Tool. SSIS is an add-on package available along with SQL Server Installation package that must be explicitly chosen during installation of SQL Server. Refer to the Agile Business Suite Installation and Configuration Guide for more information on SSIS version and installation instructions.
