Adding a Database Server Registration

Before you add a database, you must set up the databases to which Runtime connects. To set up a database, perform the following:

  1. Right-click the required server node, select All Tasks, then click Register Database Server.

The Register DB Server dialog box appears.

  2. In the DBMS registration alias name field, enter a name by which to identify the database server registration.

  3. In the Server machine field, enter the name of the server on which the Database Management Server (DBMS) is installed. This can be a local or remote machine.

  4. If the Database Management Server is installed on a remote machine, in the Remote registration alias name field, either select a database server registration that is already set up on the machine or enter a database server registration name that should be set up on the remote machine later.

  5. In the MSSQL Server Settings field, enter the Instance name of MSSQL Server (this field is left blank for default instance).

  6. Click OK to add the database registration node to the server node.
