Importing Full EAE Extracts into Migration Database

After you extract the application to an LCIF file from EAE Developer 3.3, you are ready to import the file through the Model Importer.

Note: All the migrated EAE model files will be imported into a Standard mode model. This includes all the core features of AB Suite that correspond with the functionality of EAE. If you want to use advanced features of AB Suite, you can convert the Standard mode model to Advanced mode and unlock those features. For more information on the modes of operation in AB Suite refer to AB Suite Modes in the Agile Business Suite Developer User Guide.

The model might generate a large number of warnings during the import process. These warnings get logged to a file and a link to the log file is displayed. These warnings advise that the language migrator has converted elements to meet LDL+ language requirements. It is a good practice to examine the log file to be aware of the changes that have occurred. If you encounter any errors, they are displayed in the right pane of the Load Progress dialog box.

If subsequent changes that are made in EAE need to be migrated to the AB Suite model, you must import a new “full” EAE extract through the migration database.

Migration databases are read-only and can only be modified through the AB Suite Import Wizard. See Migration Database for more information.

To import full EAE Extracts to the Migration Database, perform the following:

  1. On the Start menu, expand Agile Business Suite 7.0, and then click Model Importer.

    The Import Wizard window appears.

  2. Select the Destination Server and enter the name of your Destination Model. This destination model name must be a new name.

    • You can name the model, "<ModelName>_Migration". Replace <ModelName> with the name of your segment.

  3. Add EAE ".bch" file to the list of Source Files.

  4. Ensure that you select Create Database in the Options group

  5. Ensure that you select Migration Database in the Options group, which is available when the Create Database option is selected.

  6. Click OK to start the import.

It is recommended that you use a single Migration Database to migrate all Business Segments.
