Extracting a Full EAE Model to a LCIF File

An extract file (LCIF file), generated through the extract command in EAE Developer 3.3, is used to migrate the model through the Model Importer. Note that only ‘full’ EAE extract files are supported when migrating to AB Suite.

To extract a full EAE model to LCIF file, perform the following:

  1. Open the MODEL pane, which is normally opened by default.

  2. Double-click the top level Model.

  3. In the dialog box that appears, select Extract All.

This extract creates a separate model file for each business segment in the repository, as well as models for the global dictionary and host or packs. It also creates a ".bch" file (batch file) that contains the names of all the files exported, as well as their location on disk. It also contains the correct order in which they should be loaded.

Note: If you move the model files to another machine or to another directory before loading them into AB Suite, it is necessary to update the batch file to point to the new location.

Refer to the Import Wizard in the Agile Business Suite Developer User Guide for more information on importing the .bch file.
